As we did 2 years ago, and as I (Jeff) have done a total of 4 other times (2003, 2004, 2006, 2007) we trekked to Palm Springs California for the annual Coachella Music Festival.
For you Texans, picture ACL (that's Austin City Limits Music Festival for you yanks and West Coasters) with zero humidity, in the desert where it cools down at night and away from residences so they can actually have the volume at a decent clip. Oh, and its on a larger plot of land with actual grass growing too.
Anyway, the festival itself is right outside of Palm Springs in Indio, but we typically stay in swanky Palm Springs.
The highlights of this year include Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, The Cure, The Killers, M.I.A., The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand, My Bloody Valentine, Morrissey (great music but horribly whiney attitude) and many others.
